With our sampling kit for Human Papillomavirus (HPV-High Risk), you can conveniently perform an important preventive test at home. The kit enables early detection of high-risk HPV types classified as carcinogenic (cancer-causing) by the WHO.

You can actively and independently help prevent cervical cancer and other cancers linked to HPV. The following HPV types are included in the analysis: 16, 18, 31, 33, 35, 39, 45, 51, 52, 56, 58, and 59.

Symptome
Most HPV infections are asymptomatic. Some types of HPV can cause genital warts, which appear as small, skin-colored, pink or gray growths in the genital area. These can appear singly or in groups and in both men and women.

Why is HPV (high risk) relevant for me?
It is a good idea to check for HPV infection, as in most cases it does not cause any noticeable symptoms.
The test checks for the 12 carcinogenic (cancer-causing) high-risk HPV types, so that further action steps can be taken in case of a positive detection.
Which HPV types does the test check for?
Our HPV (High Risk) analyzes the twelve high-risk HPV types (16, 18, 31, 33, 35, 39, 45, 51, 52, 56, 58 and 59), which are considered particularly dangerous according to the WHO and are associated with an increased risk of developing cervical cancer and other types of cancer.
How does HPV (high risk) work?
The HPV (High Risk) sampling kit is a simple and convenient smear test (vaginal) for use at home. The integrated swab has been specially designed for self-testing.
You then send the sample tube to our specialist laboratory in the enclosed protective and shipping bag. The laboratory will use PCR to check your smear for twelve different carcinogenic HPV types (high-risk types). After three to seven days, you will receive your result in your DoctorBox app.
How long does it take to get my result?
You will usually receive your results after 72 hours. However, there may be delays due to postal delays and weekends. To speed things up, we recommend that you submit your results at the beginning of the week (Monday or Tuesday).
Who is not allowed to undergo HPV (high risk) testing?
The DoctorBox home tests must not be used:
- If you are not yet of legal age/adult (18 years and older)
HPV (High Risk) is not suitable for examining serious acute illnesses. If you have serious symptoms or are suffering from extreme pain, please contact your doctor.
Can I have an HPV infection without noticing symptoms?
Yes, most HPV infections do not cause obvious symptoms and often go unnoticed. An HPV test can detect an asymptomatic infection that would otherwise go undetected.
How can an HPV test help prevent cervical cancer?
An early HPV test can reveal the risk of possible development of cervical cancer. If the results are positive, further tests and preventive measures can be taken to further assess the risk and initiate treatment if necessary.
Can an HPV test also be carried out on men?
Currently, our HPV test focuses primarily on the needs of women and indicates the risk of cervical cancer. Although HPV can also occur in men, we recommend that men who are concerned about HPV infection contact their doctor to discuss the best preventive measures.
